Meet Michaela Edenfield
Known as “Area 51” and the queen of the Razzle Dazzle, Michaela Edenfield is a professional catcher for the Texas Volts of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL), bringing a combination of power, personality, leadership, and unmistakable style to the game.
Before turning pro, Michaela built a standout career at Florida State, starting 239 career games and finishing her Seminole career with a .313 batting average, 187 hits, 54 home runs, and 202 RBIs. She ranks third in Florida State history in career home runs and fifth in career RBIs, becoming one of only two players in program history to record three seasons with 50 or more RBIs.
During her career at FSU, Michaela earned NFCA All-America honors, was a four-time NFCA All-Region selection, earned four All-ACC honors, and was named to the Women’s College World Series All-Tournament Team. She was also a Top 10 Finalist for NFCA National Freshman of the Year.
Following her collegiate career, Michaela achieved one of her proudest accomplishments when she was drafted to play professionally in the AUSL. She now competes at the professional level with the Texas Volts, continuing to establish herself as one of the game’s standout catchers and personalities.
Michaela is known for bringing just as much personality to the field as she does talent. Her signature Razzle Dazzle game-day makeup has become part of her identity, showcasing her love for creativity, makeup, photography, and fashion. She proudly wears No. 51 in honor of her mother, who wore the same number.
A former two-sport athlete who also helped her high school volleyball team win four consecutive state championships, Michaela knows what it takes to compete, lead, and win at the highest level. Now, she’s bringing that professional experience directly to the next generation of softball players.
